Dr. Syeda Hina Batool

Dr. Syeda Hina Batool is a postdoc/teaching research fellow at the UBC School of Information, Canada. In her permanent role, she is Assistant Professor at the Institute of Information Management, University of the Punjab, New Campus, Lahore, Pakistan. She is serving at various national and international professional forums including ASIS&T and IFLA. She has published a good number of peer reviewed articles in prominent journals of the field. She conducted numerous workshops nationally on different learning skills (information literacy, use of social media) including qualitative research, literature mapping, proposal writing, mendeley and NVivo software. Among her other responsibilities, she is editorial board member of one of the prominent journals of the field Libri.
Reshma Dangol

Reshma Dangol currently works as a Professional Librarian in the SAARC Secretariat. She is the General Secretary of the Nepal Library Association and a Library Trainer of CTEVT. She has been recognized in the IFLA Wall of Fame. She is engaged with ASIS&T and IFLA. She has been elected as a member of IFLA in the Standing Committee of Knowledge Management Section. She has been awarded the Excellence Award in SAARC 2019. She has conducted various webinars, seminars, and conferences nationally and internationally. She played a major role in the success of the ‘Building Strong Library Association (BSLA)’ program affiliated with IFLA. In addition, her journal article has been published in the 1st and 2nd International Conference on Information and Knowledge Management (i-IKM), Bangladesh in 2019 and 2021. Her article in Knowledge Management has been published in Souvenir on the occasion of 10th Library Day of Nepal published by the Ministry of Education and Science, Nepal. She is currently associated as Honorary Reviewer for the UGC approved journal "College Libraries" affiliated by WBCLA. She worked as Rapporteur at the WLIC 84th IFLA General Conference and Assembly, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. She participated in the Internet Governance Forum (IGF 2021) in Katowice, Poland.
Amara Malik

Amara Malik is Assistant Professor at the Institute of Information Management, University of the Punjab, New Campus, Lahore, Pakistan. She is serving at various national and international professional forums including ASIS&T and IFLA. She has published a good number of peer reviewed articles in prominent journals of the field. A number of her research papers have been published in international journals (e.g. Information Development, Health Communication, Library Hi Tech, Journal of Information Science, Information and Learning Sciences, Online Information Review, portal: the Academy and Libraries etc.). She has also presented her research work in many international and national conferences and has participated in many seminars and workshops. Her research interests include LIS education, digital references services, human information interaction, social media and emerging technologies in the field.
Apart from that, she is member of national and international associations such as Pakistan Library Association (PLA), Punjab University Library and Information Management Alumni Association (PUILMAA), IFLA, Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T). She is actively participating in professional activities, for example, working as; supervisor for IFLA internship program (2021- 2022), corresponding member of Section Education and Training (SET, IFLA), social media manager of BSLISE project (IFLA) and elected communication officer of South Asia Chapter and SIG Social Media (ASIS&T, 2021-2023).
Dr. Amjid Khan

Dr. Amjid Khan is an academic, researcher, trainer, and data analyst and currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Library and Information Sciences, Allama Iqbal Open University, Pakistan. Dr. Khan obtained his MPhil and Ph.D. in LIS from IUB, Pakistan. He has over 17 years of experience in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting and supervising research, and administrating libraries and archives of government and non-government institutes. He is also serving as the Associate Editor of the International Journal of Librarianship and Information Science (IJoLIS). He has published several research papers in WoS and Scopus on digital libraries, e-learning, e-resources, e-books, information-seeking behaviors, HRM in librarianship, academic libraries, etc. He is also serving the community as a resource person in professional workshops and seminars. He was awarded as “1st Place International Paper Contest Winner Award (2015-16)” by The Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) Special Interest Group on International Information Issues (SIG III). Recently, he has won English Work Project, worth $.08M from the US-Embassy, Islamabad Pakistan.
Sadaf Rafiq

Sadaf Rafiq is a Librarian at Government college university (GCU) Lahore, Pakistan. She persuades MPhil degree in Library and Information Science from University of the Punjab. Prior to join GCU, she served as medical librarian at CMH Lahore medical college and FMH college of medicine and dentistry. In 2015, she won the IFLA/OCLC early career development fellowship. She is nominated for ASIS&T and SIG-III InfoShare award in 2018 and 2021. Additionally, she completed the fellowship of International Librarians Networking Program (ILNP) by ALA International Relations Round Table 2022. Currently, she served as an executive member of IFLA Big Data Special Interest group 2021-2023. She presented her research papers in National and International conferences and also participated numerous series of training, workshops, seminars, symposia and webinars, etc. she has vast interest in the research directions of Electronic Resources, Information Behavior, Research Data Management, Big Data and Information Literacy.
Mallikarjun Dora

Mallikarjun Dora is an Assistant Librarian at Vikram Sarabhai Library, Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. He has previously worked with institutions such as the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Berhampur, as an Assistant Librarian and intern at the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode. He is currently doing his Ph.D. in Library and Information science. Apart from his Ph.D. works, his other interest areas are Business Librarianship, Scholarly Communication, and Information Literacy. He has published a good number of articles in international and national journals. He is a member of regional, national, and international associations like ADINET (Gujarat, India), MANLIBNET and ILA (India), and the ASSIST South Asia chapter.
Fiza Batol Yousufi

Fiza Batol Yousufi is a business major with a concentration in accounting, and management, and an intended minor in computer science at Berea College in the United States. I currently work as a library assistant at Berea College's Hutchins Library. During the summer of 2022, I conducted research on "What effects do the algorithmic structure of video social media platforms—YouTube and TikTok—have on young adult users' intention and desire to engage in social justice activism?" While conducting this research, I found how eager I am to learn more about the world of technology. I am looking forward to collaborating more with some notable scholars in the future to learn more about the business world and how technology has facilitated and influenced business in today's world.
Dr. Ruwan Gamage

Dr. Ruwan Gamage is a Senior Lecturer at the National Institute of Library and Information Sciences (NILIS), University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. He is currently on a teaching assignment at the Maldives National University. He is a Chartered Librarian and a Sri Lanka Library Association Fellow. He has served as the President of the Sri Lanka Library Association (2020/2021) and the Chair of the South Asia Chapter of the ASIS&T (2021/2022). He has won various national and international awards for research and professional work. His professional contribution was appreciated by the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals, UK by awarding the ILIG CILIP International award for making a difference in libraries and information centers outside the UK in 2009. Dr. Ruwan obtained his Ph.D. from Wuhan University, PR China 2008. His interests in the library and information teaching and research are diverse. He researches public libraries, library automation and digital libraries, information literacy, resource organization, and the history of librarianship.
Naresh Agarwal

Naresh Agarwal is an Associate Professor and Director of the Information Science & Technology Concentration at the School of Library and Information Science at Simmons University, Boston. He earned his Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore (NUS)'s Department of Information Systems, School of Computing. Naresh's research area is information behavior and knowledge management. His book 'Exploring Context in Information Behavior: Seeker, situation, surroundings, and shared identities' was published in 2018 by Morgan & Claypool. Naresh also studies serendipitous information encountering and the causes and effects — both on the receiver and the sender — of information avoidance and non-response behaviors, especially by people who use smartphones and social media. He has been a keynote/invited speaker at workshops and conferences in different countries, including in the U.S., Japan, France, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.
Md. Anwarul Islam

Md. Anwarul Islam is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Science and Library Management, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has been an ASIS&T member since 2015 and has served in various roles. He did serve twice as a member of the Membership Committee, SIG-III as treasurer, and now serving as Co-Chair, SIG-III, and Past Chair SIG-KM. He is the recipient of the New Leaders Award and James M. Cretsos Leadership Award. After serving as chair, now he is serving as an advisor of the South Asia Chapter.
Bhakti Gala

Bhakti Gala is an Assistant Professor at the School of Library and Information Science, Central University of Gujarat. She is the Past-chair (2020-21) of the ASIS&T South Asia Chapter and the current Chair-elect of ASIS&T SIG-III. As Chair of the SA Chapter, she has been awarded the ASIS&T Special Chapter Project Fund leading a team of multilingual and multi-country members working on COVID-19 health information literacy. A winner of the 2014 ASIS&T SIG III International Paper Contest, her collaborative research work on financial information literacy through public libraries was further shortlisted as Finalist, 2019 Best Short Research Paper Award, at the iConference, Washington, DC, USA. She has worked on international research projects funded by OCLC/ALISE and her scholarly outputs have been shared through national and international journals and conferences. Bhakti is passionate about reading and equitable access to information through libraries and her specific research interests are Information literacy, Open Access Resources, Public Libraries, Information Behavior, Metadata, Digital Archives, and Digital Libraries.
