Summer of Tours 2018: Library at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium with Sheila Campbell
Join us for the 2018 edition of our award-winning Summer of Tours (2017 ASIS&T Chapter Event of the Year)!!! Our first tour will be of the Library at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, hosted by Librarian Sheila Campbell. Sheila has been at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium for 20 years. The Library at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is not open to the general public, but offers a wide range of items and materials for educational purposes for staff, volunteers and docents. Among the collection are animals skulls and skins, stuffed animals, and various props for zoo staff to borrow for programs. She also works with the Zoo School instructor, a program for high school students interested in zoology. Zoo School students have access to the zoo library collections and Sheila provides guidance for zoological research, bibliographic citation. Sheila Campbell is the zoo’s only librarian, where she connects zookeepers, administrators, researchers, students, volunteers, and the public to information about wildlife and the natural world.
