Annual Meeting 2020
UPDATE: This is a news item written before the Annual Meeting was transitioned to a virtual meeting. Please visit the meeting website for the latest on the meeting.
Plans for the 83rd ASIS&T Annual Meeting are well underway! The meeting will be held in Pittsburgh, PA, October 23-27, 2020 at the Wyndham Grand Hotel Pittsburgh Downtown Hotel. Except for a couple of meeting rooms, most of the meeting, including exhibits, breaks and meals, will be held on the ballroom level of the hotel, making it very easy to navigate. Premeeting workshops and tutorials will be held on Friday and Saturday, October 23-24. Details will be available in June when registration opens. The student reception will now be held on Saturday evening from 5:15-6:15 p.m. The meeting will then kick off on Sunday morning with continental breakfast at 8:00 a.m. and the Opening Plenary from 9-10:30 a.m., followed by a full-day of educational sessions. The meeting schedule has been rearranged to provide you with even more content. Please review the schedule-at-a-glance to see an outline of the meeting so you can make your plans now.
The Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown Hotel is located where Pittsburgh's famous three rivers meet and where the energy is alive. Here you'll not only enjoy 24 floors with stunning river or city views, but you'll also be close to all our great city has to offer.
Housing is now open! Be sure to reserve your room early at the very low rate of $179 we have negotiated for attendees. We hope you will plan to attend both the 2020 ASIS&T Annual Meeting and the ALISE Meeting. You will be able to reserve a room for your entire stay over both conferences.
Please take a minute to review the full Annual Meeting website for complete details on the meeting, housing, submissions, local information and much more! Check the website often for regular updates.
The submission site is open, and we encourage you to consider submitting a proposal for a session. Complete instructions for each submission type is on the Annual Meeting website. Paper, panel, alternative event, workshop and tutorial submissions are due April 10. Posters are due June 5.
This year, the unCommons creates the opportunity for SIGs and other groups to showcase, engage and collaborate. SIGs will be given priority and are encouraged to sign-up for a ninety-minute unCommons session. Individual SIGs and groups are expected to manage their activities in the unCommons room. The sign-up system will be open to SIGs on June 1, 2020 and to others June 15, 2020. When a session is not being held at the unCommons, it will be used as a gathering point where colleagues and contemporaries can share ideas, brainstorm and network, meet for an impromptu presentation, hold a one-on-one meeting, or engage in a lively debate!
We have several webinars coming up in these next few months. Please visit the website for details. We encourage you to register and attend the webinars which are free to members as one of your many member benefits. We hope you will also consider submitting a webinar proposal.
